Visual & Mechanical Inspection
Temperature Test on Panel (Operation, Storage, Salt Spray, Fungus)
The Visual & Inspection of shelter and associated items will be carried out as a part of final inspection before dispatch and the result shall be recorded in the approved ATR
Load Test on Floor (As Per ASTM E 1925 – 01 Clause 10.23).
The shelter floor shall be capable of supporting a concentrated load of 2000 pounds over a 4 sq. ft. area at the center of the floor and left in position for 30 mins. Then the floor shall also be capable of supporting a point load of 125 lb. /sq. inch.
Concentrated Roof Load Test (As per ASTM E 1925 Clause 7.24)
Subject the shelter to a uniform loading of 40 lb. /ft2 (200Kg/m2) over the fixed roof surface for 30minutes. After removal of the uniform load, place a 660 pound (300 Kg) load over 2 ft2 (0.2 m2) and the weakest area of the fixed Roof for duration of 5minutes.
Door Load Test (As per ASTM E 1925 – 01 Clause 10.24)
The door of the shelter is opened at 90 degrees and is loaded with 90 kg at a distance of 600 mm from the hinge center line for 30 minutes. After the load is removed there should not be any permanent deformation to the shelter, door hinges and the door shall open, close and seal properly.
Door Torque Test (As Per MIL –S-55286E (CR) Clause. 4.6.16)
The shelter meets maximum Door Latch Torque of 30foot/lbs. with EMI gasket installed. Torque measurements shall be made using a torque wrench fitted with an adapter with seats over the outside door handle and in line with the shaft centerline.
Rain Test (As per MIL STD 55286 E)
This Test is to verify the water-leakage/seepage tightness of the shelter when exposed to rain. The shelter shall be sprayed with water pressure 40psi for a period of 30 minutes. The effectiveness of protective covers, cases, and seals in preventing the penetration of water into the materiel. .The capability of the materiel to satisfy its performance requirements during and after exposure to water.
ISO Corner Pull Test (As per of MIL-S-55286E CR)
To demonstrate that the shelter meets the Eye Pulls Test requirements . The shelter shall be blocked and tied down as necessary to hold it from moving. Each lifting and towing eye shall be subjected to a tensile load applied in each of three mutually perpendicular directions. The test shall be performed by outward pulls between each adjacent pair of eyes. All pulls shall be to 14,400 pounds. After completion of the test, each lifting and towing eye shall be checked for any damage
Flat Drop (As Per MIL-S-55286E(CR))
The shelter shall uniformly loaded with payload and lifted 18± ¼ inches from the ground. Measurements shall be taken from the bottom of the skids at the 4 corners of the shelter. The shelter shall be released and allowed to fall freely such that skids impact onto a hard concrete surface. The range of the 4 measurements shall not exceed ¼ inch.
Impact Resistance Test & Inspection (AS PER ASTM E 1925 – 01 Clause 10.23)
A 24 inch sample of Roof shelter panel shall withstand a blow from a 70 pound steel cylinder 3 inches in diameter with hemispherical end, drop from a height of 30". A sample of end panel shall withstand a blow from the same steel cylinder drop from a height of 16". Impact shall not result in rupture to either skin. No delamination between skins and core or crushing of core is allowed outside a 3" radius from the center of the impact.
Adhesive Shear Strength Test & Inspection Floor (As Per ASTM E 1925 – 01)
The test is intended for determining the shear strength of the bond along tangential direction between the facings and the core of the sandwiched panel. The panels shall have adhesive shear strength of 0.7 kg/sq.cm i.e. 630Kgs. A test panel of size 300mmx300mm is hung through hook attached inner core (PUF) of sandwiched panel. The load is kept for 30 minutes. The bond between facings and core of sandwiched panel should be intact.
Air Tightness Test (As per ASTM E 1925 Clause 7.7)
The shelter shall not permit air leakage beyond specified limits in either shipping or operational configuration as specified. The maximum air leakage of 200 cfm at 1.2 inches of H2O. An air supply of 200 cfm to the shelter (with all appropriate openings closed) and an internal pressure of 1.2 inches of H2O (water gauge) shall be obtained and maintained in both the shipping and operational configurations.
Skidding on rollers
The container floor is loaded with payload. It is placed on two tube rollers 100mm diameters spanning the width of the container with the rollers testing on a level hard surface. The container is pushed longitudinally over a distance of 5m once in each direction.
Skidding on ground
The container floor is loaded with payload. It is then towed over a distance of 5m once in each direction, at a speed not greater than 8 km/h on an uneven ground terrain.
Door Wind Gust Test ((As per ASTM E 1925 Clause 10.24.2)
A dynamic load of 50 lb (20 kg), weight shall be dropped five times from a height of 12 in. (300 mm). This test shall be performed from both sides of the open door. The door and its associated mountings and parts shall show no evidence of deformation after the test.
EMI/EMC test (As per ASTM E 1925 Clause 7.24)
The test results will be met as per ASTM E 1925 / MIL STD 188-125-2 for EMP sheilding and test protocol as per IEEE 299 Test will be performed in DRDO Lab(RCI), ECIL, TASL Bangalore.
